For meditation and yoga:

  • This one minute meditation is a technique to calm the nervous system at any point during the day.
  • The five minute journal can support a gratitude practice.
  • Getting outside and doing a nature meditation can be deeply grounding.
  • Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh’s book Peace is Every Step is a lovely and inspiring book about finding peace through mindfulness in everyday life.
  • These apps have functionailty for tracking and regulating emotions, guided meditations, and even peaceful soundtracks: Calm app, Plum Village app, and Mood Meter app.
  • Yoga Alliance has a search function for finding registered yoga teachers in your area.

For herbal and nutritional supports:

  • Mountain Rose Herbs is an amazing resource for essential oils/aromatherapy and herbal teas.
  • Rescue Remedy is a flower essence that calms the nervous system in acute situations, and is mild enough for children and pets.
  • The first medicine is food.  This article provides an overview about making a transition from eating processed foods to whole foods.  USDA’s website shows which fresh produce is in season, meaning you can buy locally and maximize your environmental impact and nutrition!
